Procedure of the placement test: 5 steps to determine your language level
The procedure of our placement test consists of 5 steps. These steps provide us with a solid basis for determining your language level.
Step 1: Choose between online or PDF
Decide how you want to take your placement test.
You have the option:
- Placement test online or
- Placement test as a PDF download (coming soon)
Regardless of the method you choose:
Both methods will provide you with an individual and reliable result!

It does not commit you to any course.
Step 2: Before you start, please note the following points
You are motivated and want to start immediately with your placement test? That makes us happy.
Please read and follow our instructions for the test first. These are important, otherwise your result could be falsified.
If you take the placement test online, the page "3 important things to do before you start" will be displayed automatically before your test.
If you take the placement test as a PDF download (coming soon), you will find the instructions on the first page of the test.
Step 3: The test
It's finally time to go! You take your placement test and answer as many questions as you can in 45 minutes.
You test:
- Your vocabulary competence
- Your knowledge of language structures
- Your knowledge of typical situations
Important: Do not put yourself under pressure!
Step 4: Your self-assessment
Here you estimate which tasks you are already able to handle successfully in practice and where you would like to use your knowledge in the future.
This will help us to find the best possible language course for you!
Step 5: The evaluation
The test evaluation is first created automatically. At the training center, the result is then evaluated by one of our specialists.
This specialist will also check whether a further on-site assessment is necessary for an accurate classification.

You can take the placement test in 2 different languages: German and English.
