Job-related German language support (DeuFöV) in Halle

Learn German with a professional language course - up to your desired language level

Vocational-related German language support (DeuFöV) funded by the BAMF

The vocational language courses build upon the integration courses. They aim to further develop language skills to improve opportunities in the labor market and vocational training. The vocational language courses are designed for immigrants, EU citizens, and Germans with a migration background who require a specific language level for accessing education, employment, or professional recognition. They should be registered as jobseekers and/or receiving unemployment benefits. Employees or trainees whose German language skills are insufficient to handle everyday work tasks can also participate upon application. For this target group, part-time courses can be offered if needed.

The courses consist of 400 teaching units (usually 4 units per day / 100 days of instruction). The language instruction has a general vocational orientation. The course concludes with a certificate examination.

Participation in BAMF-funded vocational language courses is only possible with the presentation of an authorization certificate. Unemployed individuals and jobseekers receive this certificate from the job center or employment agency, while employees apply for it directly with us at the BAMF. Additionally, current language skills one level below the target level of the course must be demonstrated, i.e., B1 for participation in a B2-level course, B2 for participation in a C1-level course. This can be proven through a telc or Goethe certificate not older than 6 months or through a free placement test administered by us.

Participation in vocational language courses is usually free of charge. Only employees above a certain income threshold are required to pay a course fee. We are happy to provide personalized advice regarding this matter.

In addition to the basic modules (B2 or C1), we also offer specialized modules (targeting B1) and modules for professional recognition. Courses for healthcare professions conclude with a special examination at the B2 level, while courses for academic healthcare professions prepare for the specialized language examination conducted by the respective regional medical associations.
